No one supports (will tell me how to do) this process. All those I have talked (Apple, NUTD, web discussion boards) say it can’t be done. But here are the steps to move your events from NUTD to iCal, which I have figured out. I don’t guarantee anything since no one else will either. But it’s fairly simple and works each time for me. Karl
WARNING: This will put all your events from NUTD which may be in many categories, into one category in iCal. See categories below. I have not tested this with to-dos or anything else. Just events. You will probably need to retype to-dos.
1. Open your primary NUTD calendar
2. Archive all your dates except the most current and future so you don’t move a lot of data you don’t need.
3. Quit NUTD
4. Now you are going to import the events from NUTD, into a Microsoft Entourage calendar. iCal can read Entourage format. (go figure!)
5. Open Entourage (probably in your Microsoft Office folder)
6. Click the calendar button so you can see things as they happen.
7. Choose Import from the file menu.
8. Choose Import information from a program.
9. Choose Now-Up-To-Date
10. Click the right arrow on the ready screen
11. Choose your copy of NUTD.
12. Import and the events should now show up in Entourage.
13. Leave Entourage running and open iCal
14. Choose Import from the file menu in iCal
15. Choose import Entourage data and click Import
16. ical makes a new calendar (A calendar is what a category was called in NUTD) called Entourage and imports the data into it.
17. Ta-Da! You have done the impossible with a little help from your friend.
Categores: You may have several categories of info from NUTD that you wish to import. If you take your data as is, it will all go into one category called Entourage in iCal. The only way around this is to export all events from one category into a file. Then export all events from the next category into a separate file, etc, viewing each category separately.Next you would import one file (category) you just exported into a brand new NUTD calendar which you make your primary calendar. Run the routine listed above to get it into ical. Rename the caledar in iCal that is now called entourage to something else, and then repeat this process again for each category.
I chose to dump all my events into one category and sort them out in ical later switching them from one calendar to another (category in NUTD language). Back
