1. We will improve communication with all constituents in the school district.
  Design communication and outreach strategies to home schoolers, senior citizens, parents and the business community
  Promote community and state leadership on education issues.
  Engage the McPherson community in discussions on the future of education in McPherson and the state of Kansas.
  Continue to improve our internal communication with employees.
2. We will provide the programs and resources necessary for children to grow to their fullest potential.
  Encourage and grow our Advanced Placement offerings at the high school.
  Establish and grow Pre-AP courses at the middle school
  Continue to provide for, educate and formulate plans for the future use of technology with our students and staff.
  Provide opportunities and programs targeted to students attending technical school or entering the workforce.
3. We will provide programs and resources necessary for all students to be successful in school.
 

Establish an at-risk four-year-old pre-kindergarten program.

  Expand Head Start opportunities to include full day for some students.
    Expand summer school opportunities to more students at the elementary level.
  Expand summer school for sixth and seventh grades, thus providing summer school for students at-risk in all core areas, 6-12.
  * Work within resources to provide class size numbers of 18-1 or below in grades Pre-K-3.
  * Provided extended day services for students in the elementary school who are at-risk.
  * Redesign our high school special education programs for those students who are self contained most of the academic day.
4. We will provide appropriate programs and resources to attract, hire and retain the best possible personnel.
 

Work toward all employee groups being in the top quartile of the comparison group in salary and benefits.

  Work to provide recruitment activities that will attract top candidates to McPherson.
    Work to establish mentor and other programs to aide in retention of quality personnel
  Provide staff development opportunities for staff to grow in their skills and knowledge.
