Dibbens on AS 1st team

McPherson High's Derek Dibbens wasn't first-team All-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League, but he was first-team Class 5A All-State by the Kansas Baseball Coaches Association.

Dibbens earned that distinction this week, according to selections announced.

Dibbens broke two school records this season. His .507 batting average was the best in Bullpup history, as were his 37 hits. He also slugged 4 homers and knocked in 17 runs, while having an on-base percentage of .576 and a slugging percentage of .877. He had 9 doubles and 3 triples, giving him 16 extra-base hits in 21 games.

Bullpup outfielder Evan Whitehill was selected to the second team. He hit .427 with 18 RBI. He had 6 doubles and a pair of triples, and was 6 of 7 in the stolen base department. He had a .560 slugging percentage with a .476 on-base percentage.
