Krista Abrahams

ENGLISH -- High School
Krista graduated from Goessel High School of Goessel, Kansas, in 1998 and received her Bachelors Degree from Bethel College of North Newton, Kansas in 2002. Krista is originally from this area and comes back to Kansas from teaching 1 1/2 years at Mount Clare Christian School in Baltimore, Maryland. Krista will be teaching English at the High School.
Inge Angle

Special Education – MS
Inge received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Bethany College of Lindsborg in Spring, 2004. Inge student taught for USD 418 from August 2003 to December 2003. She has been employed in our district since February 2004. Inge is teaching Special Education at the Middle School.
Jeffery DaMetz

SCIENCE - High School


Jeffery graduated from Towanda High School of Towanda, Kansas in 1986. Jeffery received his Bachelors Degree from Wichita Statue University in 1995 and his Masters Degree from Friends University in 2000. Jeffery has most recently taught at Inman High School for the last four years. Jeffery will be teaching Science at the High School.

Sheli DeVolder

K-1 -- Roosevelt Elementary School
Sheli graduated from Fairfield High School of Langdon, Kansas in 1981 and earned her Bachelors Degree from Fort Hays University in 1991. Sheli taught at Ellsworth Elementary School for the last 10 years (Reading Recovery and 2nd grade teacher). Sheli will be teaching K-1 at Roosevelt; she is replacing Teri Boxberger.
Julie Diepenbrock

FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE -- High School
Julie graduated from Chickasha High School of Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1982 and received her Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma Christian University in 1986. Julie has been substituting in the Moundridge School District the past two years. Julie will be working part-time as Family & Consumer Science Teacher at the High School.
Travis Feil

ENGLISH/YEARBOOK -- High School
Travis graduated from Chase High School of Chase, Kansas in May 2001 and earned his Bachelors Degree from Kansas State University in June 2004. Travis has been substituting and tutoring the last three years at Geary County in Junction City, Kansas. Travis will be teaching English/Yearbook at the High School; he is replacing Carol Drieling.
Molly Gentz

1st GRADE -- Lincoln Elementary School
Molly graduated from Herington High School of Herington, Kansas in May 1997. Molly earned her Bachelors Degree from Bethany College in 2001. Molly taught kindergarten and 1st Grade the last two years at Blue Valley in Overland Park, Kansas. Molly will be teaching 1st Grade at Lincoln Elementary School. She is replacing Judith Fast.
Emilea Harlin

LANGUAGE ARTS -- Middle School
Emilea graduated from Independence High School of Independence, Kansas in 1999. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Pittsburg State University in December 2003. Emilea worked at Salina South Middle School with the ESL Program at the 8th grade level during Spring 2004. Emilea will be teaching 8th Grade English; she is replacing Tonya Ayers.
Connie Horton
COUNSELOR -- Roosevelt Elementary School

Connie graduated from St. Mary College of Leavenworth, Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in Spring 1987. In the summer of 1990, Connie received her Masters Degree in School Counseling from Emporia State University. For the past 15 years Connie has been a Counselor at USD 243 (12 years) and USD 254 (3 years). Connie will be the Counselor at Roosevelt Elementary School; she is replacing Laura Tejada-Phillips.
James Janzen
IR -- Canton/Galva Middle School

James graduated from Augusta High School of Augusta, Kansas in May 1977. James earned his Bachelors Degree from McPherson College in May 1982. James has worked as a Para for McPherson from 1988-1991. For the last 10 years he has been employed for the Newton USD 373 school district in various Special Ed fields. James will be teaching IR at Galva Middle School; he is replacing Terie Tector.
Dustan Kanitz

6th GRADE SCIENCE -- Middle School
Dustan graduated from McPherson High School in May 1998, and received his Bachelors Degree from Wichita State University in December 2002. Dustan has been substituting for the McPherson School District for the last year. Dustan will be teaching 6th Grade Science at the Middle School; he is replacing Christy Doile.
Neva Krug

SPANISH -- High School


Neva graduated from McPherson High School in May 2000, and received her Bachelors Degree from McPherson College in May 2003. Neva has been teaching Spanish I and II for the last year at St. John’s Military Academy in Salina, Kansas. Neva will be teaching Spanish at the High School; she is replacing Shane Kirchner.

Shawna McAllister

HEAD START -- McPherson
Shawna graduated from McPherson High School in May 2002. She received her Bachelors Degree from Central Christian College in May 2003. Shawna has worked the past year with the McPherson School District at Roosevelt Elementary and also at McPherson County Head Start. Shawna will be teaching at the Head Start in McPherson; she is replacing Linda Graber.
Amanda Pfannenstiel

3rd GRADE -- Washington Elementary
Amanda graduated from Ness City High School, in Ness City in May 1999. Amanda received her Bachelors Degree from Bethany College in May 2003. For the past year Amanda taught 5th grade at Marion Elementary in Marion, Kansas. Amanda will be teaching 3rd Grade at Washington Elementary; she is replacing Rozalynn Frey.
Rita Rea-Suppes

ED -- Middle School


Rita graduated from Southeast of Saline High School of Gypsum, Kansas, in May 1993. Rita received her Bachelors Degree from Bethany College in May 2004. During the Spring of 2004, Rita substitute taught for USD 418, USD 400 and USD 306. Rita will be teaching ED at the Middle School; she is replacing Amy Elliott.

Erica Schrag
IR -- Moundridge Elementary

Erica received her Bachelors Degree from Kansas State University in May 2001. In May 2002 she received her Masters in Special Education from Kansas State University. For the last two years Erica has been working as a Special Education Instructor at the Sedgwick County Area Educational Cooperative. Erica will be an IR Teacher at Moundridge Elementary; she is replacing Melissa Helms.
Travis Sears
IR -- Smoky Valley High School

Travis graduated from McPherson High School in May 1999. Travis received his Bachelors Degree from McPherson College in December 2003. During the last year, Travis substitute taught for Salina South High School and also McPherson Middle School. Travis will be an IR Teacher at Smoky Valley High School; he is replacing Carolyn Brock.
Lori Sprague

ART - High School
Lori graduated from Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Kansas in May 1994. Lori received her Bachelors Degree from Fort Hays State University in May 2000. Lori has been teaching 6-8th grade Art for the last four years at Piper in Kansas City, Kansas. Lori will be teaching Art at the High School.
Jeff Temple

Assistant Band Director
Jeff graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in May 2004. Jeff received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education. Jeff has been a private percussion teacher from 1999 – to present. Jeff has also student taught at Topeka West High School. Jeff will be the Assistant Band Director for grades 6-12.
Jennifer Vernon

4th&5th GRADES -- Roosevelt Elementary School
Jennifer graduated from Kansas City Christian Academy in Prairie Village, Kansas in May 1992. Jennifer received her Bachelors Degree from Kansas State University in May 1997. Jennifer has been teaching 4th grade and Middle School Language Arts for the last 1 1/2 years. Jennifer will be teaching 4th and 5th grades at Roosevelt Elementary School; she is replacing Jackie Bohnenblust.
