Dawn Porter's first-grade class from Eisenhower Elementary School ventured to Infinia Wednesday morning to tell the residents about Kansas. The group sang Kansas songs, including “Home On the Range” and “Yankee Doodle,” square danced and recited the Kansas ABCs. The students and Kristin Anderson, Eisenhower music teacher, gave brief information on each piece before and after each selection. The students ended the morning performance by singing happy birthday to Kansas, which will celebrate its 146th birthday Jan. 29. Eisenhower students have been performing this type of activity for the past eight years.
