Welcome to
Eisenhower Elementary School

WELCOME TO EES!!!!

It is an honor to serve the staff, students, and parents of Eisenhower Elementary School as the building principal. We have a great team of educators helping students to reach their potential each and every day.

Educating children takes a team effort with everyone pulling together for a common goal—doing the best things we can for kids. If you have questions throughout the year, please feel free to us at 241-9430. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I will close with one of my favorite quotes from Olympic figure skating gold medalist Sarah Hughes: “It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.”
I hope you and your kids have a wonderful school year!!!

March News
From The Principal

As we “March” into spring, I would like to take this time to thank everyone for a wonderful school year so far. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our staff, students, and parents at EES. It is truly a super place to educate kids

Some of you have asked questions about reading this year. Please contact your classroom teacher for specific answers. While guided reading is the main cog of our reading program, classroom teachers use other strategies for reading in the classroom. Balanced literacy and shared inquiry are just a couple of other strategies used in the classroom.

A “Power Whoosh” (Quantum Learning Term) goes out to our parents for attending conferences. Preliminary results show over 95% of you attended in person.

An issue that I would like to address for the end of the school year is teacher requests for the next school year. I will not accept requests for teachers from parents unless there is a valid reason for the request. Please do not write letters for requests. I will talk to you on the phone or in person if you have a legitimate concern. I feel that if I try to please everyone, I won’t be able to please everyone. This will lead to a “no-win” situation. I have our professional staff giving me suggestions on how to divide students for the next school year.

Also, out of district students attending EES need to complete the appropriate paper work to be considered for EES enrollment. Please do so before May 1.

ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER THE TRAFFIC PATTERNS THAT EXIST FOR STUDENT SAFETY. OUR CIRCLE DRIVE IS A ONE WAY STREET ENTERING ON THE EAST AND EXITING ON THE WEST. PLEASE DON’T EXIT THE WEST PARKING LOT ON THE SOUTH SIDE ENTRANCES/EXITS. ENTER AND EXIT THE WEST PARKING LOT ON THE FAR WEST SIDE.

A few reminders:

**March —State assessments begin at EES.
**March 9—K-2 Music Program at MHS starting at 6:00 PM. **March 15-19—SPRING BREAK!!!
**March 22—3:30 PM SITE Council Mtg. and 6:30 PM PTO Mtg.

Have a great month!!
Mr. Marshall
