Principal's Comments

Welcome to McPherson High School for the 2008-09 academic year! MHS is a great school and our joint goal is to maintain and build on the traditions of in all areas of school life. Education is a self-improvement process that involves diligent effort to prepare for daily obligations and to develop skills that will create a foundation for success as a lifelong learner.

The school staff works to help students stretch their potential and achieve a level of continuous growth. School life includes academics, activities, arts and athletics.   We encourage students to be involved, but maintain a proper perspective on what the fundamental purpose of school is, teaching and learning. Research clearly indicates that successful schools have students who are connected to school life beyond the classroom.

We are all in this process of teaching, learning and growing together at MHS. If we are to continue to achieve at the highest level possible, we must work together for that common goal! Please seek out assistance if you have a question, concern or need help and we will try and assist.

The traditions will carry on, if we each strive to be the best we can be in all phases of the life of our school. Continuous improvement means being willing to raise the bar each time a goal is achieved. We are excited about the learning opportunities and experiences we will jointly experience throughout the year. Great things will happen if we all focus on the goal of continuous growth and self-improvement.
