You can cleanup a flipchart background with a Tiled Texture by changing the Page Color. Just watch the video and find out how to do that.

Tip #9 - Sound Control

How annoying is it when you have a sound file on a flipchart and the “Sound Control” window pops up blocking the view of your chart. I have a short tip on how to keep the sound but not the window.

Tip #8 - Resize Graphics

When you have a graphic that is larger than your flipchart you can resize it to fit it exactly the same height or width that you desire. After adding the large graphic just zoom out your flipchart, grab the resize handle bar, and make it smaller to fit your flipchart.

Have you wanted to be able to use the Internet and the ActivBoard at the same time? There is a way with ActivStudio tools “Flipchart Overlay”. You can annotate over the website AND use the hyperlinks along with the annotation. The following tip will show you how to use the overlay and manipulate the website simultaneously.

Customizing your Tool Bar will help making your flipcharts quick and easier. You may have more than one customized Tool Bar depending on what you use in your classroom. I have at least 2 or 3 different Tool Bars for Presentation and for Music Class.

Tip #5 - Layers

You have 3 layers to use with your objects. Top, Middle, and Bottom. Also you can move objects within a layer to the front or back. Use the layers to hide objects, put objects in sequence order or manipulate objects to do with as you wish.

Everybody needs to build their individual Resource Library to customize individual flipcharts for their grade level. This podcast will show you how to create new folders and add vocabulary to that folder for all subjects.

Tip #3 - Import pdf

In ActivStudio you can import any of your lesson plans right into an ActivStudio flipchart. We need to open the lesson that was saved as .ppt or .doc and then convert it to a pdf file. Tip #3 shows that process.

Tip #2 - Copy and Edit

This tip has two parts to it. First we are going to make the student names so that they will “Drag a Copy” and still remain as a student name on the left side. The second part of my tip involves unlocking a ready-made flipchart.
