USD 418 is pleased to announce that Mr. Alex Specht will serve as Assistant Principal of McPherson High Schools, effective July 1, 2024.
When asked what he looks forward to, Mr. Specht shared the following: “I am excited to work with the students and staff at McPherson High School. I have connections with both groups from my time in McPherson and am eager to reunite with them and build new relationships. McPherson has a rich history of traditions in both academics and athletics, and I look forward to contributing to the continued successes that MHS will undoubtedly have in the future. My recent experiences as the Assistant Principal at Fort Scott High School will serve me well as an administrator at McPherson High School. I hope to make a meaningful impact on both the staff and students at MHS.”
Mr. Specht is returning to McPherson Public Schools, where he served as a science teacher at McPherson Middle School from 2012 through 2021. He transitioned to his current position as an Assistant Principal at Fort Scott High School beginning in the 2021-22 school year.
Dr. Audrey Herbst, McPherson High School Principal stated, "It is with great honor and enthusiasm we welcome Alex Specht back to USD 418 as Assistant Principal at McPherson High School! He brings with him enthusiasm, positivity, and a strong instructional background. His talents and creativity will enhance our school culture for staff and students.”
Dr. Shiloh Vincent added, “Mr. Specht brings a breadth of experience at the secondary level - both as a high school administrator and longtime middle school teacher. He was a fantastic member of the team when he was a classroom teacher at McPherson Middle School and I am glad to see him rejoin the McPherson Public Schools team.”
